Chaplain (MAJ) Roger D. Lanter received his promotion to the rank of Major on December 6th 2010. He was appointed on November 6th 2010 while at Fort Stewart Army Base as the Command Chaplain GSDF for state headquarters. Chaplain Lanter is on the staff at the Joint Forces HQ Chaplain Office serving the state Joint forces chaplain on Dobbins Air Reserve Base as the Liaison for the GSDF Division of the Georgia Department of Defense. The Joint Forces HQ Chaplain Office is made up of the Army National Guard, Air National Guard and the State Defense Force. Chaplain Lanter leads the Chaplaincy of 3 Brigade Commands made up of 12 Battalion Commands, Medical Group, Support Battalion, and the staff of the Chaplain Training Center. He is the Command Generals staff chaplain and offers advice on faith based issues, moral issues and the morale of the soldiers across the state of Georgia. He conducts Chapel services and training for both the GSDF and Joint Forces. Chaplain Lanter is married to Teresa Lanter and they have a home In Taylorsville Georgia.
